Summer Safety = Summer Fun!

As the weather heats up there are many situations you need to think about in order to make summer time fun - FUN - for you & your kids!
Temperatures are rising & this heat can become dangerous if you are not being hydrated. Adults & children need to drink water or other non-carbonated, sugarless drinks, often & throughout the day. Outside play is important for children - for their development - however as the temperatures climb, limit time outside. It is a good idea to take advantage of the outdoors in the morning or late afternoon (before or after the sun it at its peak).
SUNSCREEN!!! It is recommended that an spf of at least 15 is used & applied 30 minutes prior to going outdoors - even on cloudy days.
Lightweight clothes! You can dress your child to protect them from the sun as well:
- Cover your children’s arms with lightweight-long sleeved cotton t-shirts
- Always put a hat with a brim on your child’s head (they don’t always keep it on - but when it is on - it helps! )
- Replace sweat soaked clothes with dry clothes
